  • Originally founded in 2018, Mings started off as a mobile food cart. Eventually, they transitioned to a food truck, and more recently in early 2022, have opened a brick and mortar.

When they first went into business they were serving a blend of Asian-influenced street food ranging from bao to dumplings, and banh mi. Since then they have welcomed a new menu of Asian-inspired fried chicken sandos, and street fries.

  • Being a new business, the owners needed a logo and an entire brand direction. They knew that they wanted something that stood out and was as bold, bright, and colorful as the flavors they were pulling from to create their food.

They also needed something that could grow with them and that would give them direction when expanding their presence both on the street and online.

  • The original logomark for Mings was created to fit with their original business plan. We drew influence from the wok used in a lot of Asian cooking. Above the wok, we included a red and orange twin flame. The logomark is paired with a very bold, yet simple logotype. The two elements work great together but also can stand on their own.

For the colors, we decided to round out the black, red, and orange color palette with a bright yellow. This yellow would be their main color and is what their future customers would come to recognize them and their food truck by.

As the business grew and transitioned into a brick-and-mortar restaurant, we kept the logo much the same. We didn’t want to mess with the now-iconic Ming’s flame in creating the logo for their Sando Bar. So we opted to simplify the logotype, removing the line from under the G, so we could wrap the text around the flame. What we end up getting is a new logo for their restaurant, that feels like it always belonged with the brand.
